| About Lipodissolve/Mesotherapy (Fat Dissolve) | ||||||||
What does mesotherapy (Lipodissolve) treat? Mesotherapy (Lipodissolve) can improve body contouring in those areas where people have difficulty losing stubborn fat. Examples of areas where mesotherapy can be used are as follows:
How safe is this procedure? Mesotherapy has been used in Europe for the last 20 years. It is considered safe, and complications are infrequent, and generally very temporary and minor. You may experience mild pain at the site of the injection, and if so it will resolve in a matter of days. Have there been any clinical trials of Lipodissolve? A study of Lipodissolve published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology stated, "Clinical results reflect that phosphatidylcholine [the substance used for Fat Dissolve] was efficacious in reducing the fatty pads in the treated areas, with few side effects. From the authors' point of view, the off-label use of phosphatidylcholine in the treatment of fatty pads and small areas of localized fat is safe, low cost, and effective." After talking with us, and having a thorough examination, we will discuss if you would benefit from mesotherapy, and if so, which sites would accomplish the result that you're looking for. The medications are injected just underneath the skin, which will physically dissolve the fat over a period of weeks. The procedure usually requires three to six treatments, or possibly more, depending on how large an area needs treatment and how much fat there is in the area. Treatments are given at 1-2 week intervals. You may be prescribed some anti-inflammatory medication to take 24 hours prior to the procedure. Patients may see redness in the area lasting for about a day after treatment, and should not do any activities causing sweat for 48 hours after the procedure. After 3 days, patients can resume all normal activities. Before and After Pictures
